This Day in History | Gandhi and Godse Debate Resurfaces on Birth Anniversary of “Dharti Ke Aaba”

On November 15, 1949, Nathuram Godse and Narayan Apte were hanged at Ambala Central Jail for the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi, who was killed on January 30, 1948, in New Delhi. Godse and Apte disagreed strongly with Gandhi’s policies, which they perceived as overly sympathetic toward Pakistan and harmful to Hindu interests.
