East Taiwan was struck by a 7.4 magnitude earthquake in the early morning hours of Wednesday (local time). The earthquake prompted tsunami warnings across Taiwan, southern Japan and the Philippines. Meanwhile, a fire broke out at an Istanbul nightclub during renovations, resulting in 25 fatalities and numerous injuries.
