5. PFI’s ‘India 2047’ Islamist Blueprint Back in Focus Amid Delhi Car Blast Probe

The investigation into the November 10 Delhi blast has led to multiple arrests in Jammu and Kashmir as well as other parts of India. As per media reports citing sources, the investigation indicates strong possibility that the Delhi Car Blast case has links with Pulwama-Faridabad terror module. It is being suspected that the explosion is connected with multiple arrests linked with the Pulwama-Faridabad “white collar” terror module. Either in connection with the Red fort car blast case or in Pulwama Faridabad module, several highly radicalised, educated Islamists including Doctors, Imam have been arrested so far.

Now, amid the ongoing crackdown on terror related infrastructure, The Commune has dug out a PFI’s document that wants India to be an Islamic State by 2047, the year when the country will be marking the centenary of its Independence. Banned after the famous “Operation Octopus”, the Popular Front of India had prepared a “vision document” titled, India Vision 2047, which reportedly had also talked about building an elaborate network of medical professionals, though worded in euphemism. However, the criminal antecedents of the banned Islamist outfit, the communal undertone and the intended involvement of PFI in academic institutions warrant a deeper and a renewed focus despite the cover of idealistically worded “Initiatives”.

  • The most notorious example was the Phulwari Sharif terror module bust in Bihar (July 2022), which led to the discovery of PFI’s “India Vision 2047” document.
  • This document outlined a plan to establish an Islamic state in India by 2047, including subjugating the “coward majority community”, bring back the “glory of Islam” in India and recruiting loyal Muslims into government departments including executive and judicial positions as well as the Police and the Army.
  • The PFI’s agenda included mass mobilization, training cadres, and seeking support from friendly Islamic countries with Turkey being specifically mentioned.
  • Crackdown
  • The largest-ever crackdown, Operation Octopus, spanned 15 states and involved NIA, ED, IB, CRPF, and 15 state agencies.
  • Agencies conducted a midnight raid at 4 A.M., simultaneously raiding 93 locations and arresting 106 members of Islamist outfits.
  • The action was linked to 5 cases previously registered by NIA.
  • The Phulwari Sharif terror module was training terrorists 15 days before PM Modi’s visit to Patna.
  • The “India Vision 2047” document was an 8-page internal circulation plan, explicitly calling for converting India into an Islamic state and neutralising those opposing PFI’s interests.

Those detained include terror associates on bail, individuals in contact with Pakistan-based terrorists, and relatives of active militants. The operation aims to dismantle terror networks and disrupt communication channels used for militant activities. This massive action follows the busting of a transnational module linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGuH), and comes as Delhi and nearby regions remain on high alert after the Red Fort car blast on November 10, which killed around 8 people and is suspected to have links with JeM.
