Best Morning to Send a Message”: SC Denies Bail to UAPA Accused a Day After Red Fort Blast, Reinforces Strict Bail Norms

A day after the deadly Red Fort car blast in Delhi that killed eight people, the Supreme Court refused to grant bail to a man accused under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) in a separate case. During the hearing, Senior Advocate Siddhartha Dave, representing the accused, said it was “not the best morning” to argue the case after such tragic events.

In response, Justice Vikram Nath remarked, “Best morning to send a message.” The Bench, comprising Justices Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta, noted that the accused had formed a WhatsApp group where a flag closely resembling that of ISIS was found, along with inflammatory material. The defense argued that only Islamic literature was seized, no explosives were recovered, and the accused was 70% disabled. However, the Court rejected the bail plea, citing the seriousness of the charges, while directing that the trial be completed within two years. With this, the apex court has inadvertently sent a ringing message to the High Courts as well to not be overly lenient in issuing bails to UAPA accused in serious cases that are of national security importance.

IIT Bombay Female Student Allege Islamists Mob Issued “Death Threat” Over Noise Complaint

A disturbing incident of Islamist intolerance has come to light from India’s premium education institute IIT Bombay. The incident reportedly unfolded on the night of 9 November 2025. A female student raised a concern about loud music being played past the campus’s permitted hours (beyond 10 PM). Immediately following her complaint, approximately a 50-member strong Islamist mob reportedly surrounded her near Hostel 10 and began intimidating her.

According to eyewitnesses, when male students intervened to help her, the group turned violent—physically assaulting some and issuing explicit death threats by saying “we will kill you”.

The institute’s administration and the Mumbai Police are yet to formally respond. A student advocacy X handle named “IIT B for Bharat” has demanded a transparent, impartial investigation, emphasising that such mob intimidation has no place in an academic environment.

Dr Shaheen Shahid Tasked to Set Up Jaish-e-Mohammed’s Women’s Wing in India, Says Delhi Police

Dr Shaheen Shahid, a Lucknow-based doctor, has been arrested for her alleged links with Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). According to Delhi Police, she was assigned to establish the Indian branch of JeM’s women’s wing, Jamaat-ul-Mominaat, headed by Sadia Azhar, the sister of JeM founder Masood Azhar, in Pakistan. Sadia’s husband, Yusuf Azhar, who played a key role in the 1999 Kandahar hijacking, was killed in Operation Sindoor on May 7.

Police arrested Dr Shaheen after recovering an assault rifle from her car during a crackdown on a JeM terror module in Faridabad, where nearly 2,900 kg of explosives were seized. Investigators linked her to Dr Muzammil Ganaie, alias Musaib, from Pulwama, who worked at Al-Falah University near Delhi. Reports suggest JeM formed Jamaat-ul-Mominaat in October to recruit women, including wives of militants and poor students from Pakistan’s Bahawalpur, Karachi, and Muzaffarabad.

Former Foreign Secretary Kanwal Sibal rebukes Raghuram Rajan over US tariffs remark

In a strongly worded statement, former Foreign Secretary Kanwal Sibal condemned ex-RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan for blaming the government of Narendra Modi for the sharp U.S. import duties on India. Sibal labelled Rajan’s comments as “cheap political blows” and asserted that India did not capitulate to American pressure under the Modi government. He emphasised that the U.S. tariffs were driven by Washington’s self-interest rather than personal rapport between leaders. He also challenged Rajan’s comparison between India and Pakistan’s tariff treatment by asking whether India should emulate Pakistan’s approach. Rajan, speaking at a global forum, had criticised the 50 % duty on Indian imports, higher than the 19 % imposed on Pakistan and called it a diplomatic embarrassment for India. Sibal responded by stating that friendly relations do not mean surrendering national interests, and he argued firmly that India’s sovereign choices cannot be judged as government failure.

Odisha Builder Arrested for Running Fake Online Sales of Mahaprasad from the Puri Jagannath Temple

In a significant crackdown, the cyber-police unit in Puri arrested a real-estate builder from Bhubaneswar, identified as Dispoza Pattnaik, for operating a website called shreeprasad.org that claimed to deliver the sacred Mahaprasad from the Jagannath Temple, Puri kitchen to devotees’ homes. The site falsely used temple images and promoted orders with prices ranging from ₹700 to ₹1,000, misleading people into believing the service was authorised. The complaint, filed by the Temple’s Officer-on-Special-Duty Hemant Kumar Padhi, led to tracing the linked phone number and Pattnaik’s arrest in Bhubaneswar. Police said the temple’s own authorised marketplace, Ananda Bazaar, is the only valid source for Mahaprasad, and warned devotees to avoid such fraudulent online platforms.

India Calls on UN Security Council to Enforce “Zero-Tolerance” Policy on Illicit Arms Trafficking Following Blast Near Red Fort

Ambassador Harish stressed that cross-border terrorism in India relies heavily on illicit arms flows, including through drone use, and demanded stronger enforcement of arms embargoes, better tracing systems, tighter national legislation and enhanced global cooperation. He emphasized that stopping the trafficking of small arms is vital not only for security but also for development, humanitarian stability and socio-economic growth.

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) took this action as part of an investigation by the ‘BC Extortion Task Force’. The three accused were part of an organized crime group that targeted Punjabi-origin business owners and demanded payments in cryptocurrency.

Red Fort Blast: Leftist-Islamist Propaganda Exposed, PIB Fact-Checks False Claim of CNG Cylinder Explosion

After the Delhi Red Fort blast, several self-proclaimed intellectuals, journalists, and social media users who often post in support of leftist and Islamist radicals began spreading a new claim.

Without any official confirmation, these leftist and Islamist handles alleged that the Delhi car blast was caused by a CNG cylinder explosion.

However, the Press Information Bureau (PIB) has now fact-checked and debunked this baseless claim. PIB clarified that no Delhi Police official has made any such confirmation.

The government has appealed to the public not to share any unverified information and to stay alert. Authorities also warned against the circulation of fake images — actually from the 2024 Lebanon incident — being falsely shared as photos of the Delhi blast.

It is noteworthy that security agencies are investigating all possible angles of the Delhi car blast case, and sources suggest a possible link to the Pulwama-Faridabad terror module.
